Spring’s not fully sprung; we must first wipe the sleep from our winter-weary eyes
Little steps and small bites help us digest the furious energies ahead this month.
March Madness indeed. Here in California, there are signs of Spring everywhere as plum blossoms, daffodils, and hyacinths abound yet this is still a time of transition. With Mercury still in its retrograde period until the 10th making its murky emotional path through the sensitive sign of Pisces, we are held back from leaping into Spring too fast. Therefore, we continue to feel a bit raw until its forward motion. But once the speedy planet catches up and we begin to regain our composure, there may be an urge to jump the gun thanks to a double whammy of a highly-charged Mars/Pluto meetup on the 23rd, directly followed by the fiery new moon in Aries on the 24th. Follow the vibe of the Virgo full moon at the beginning of the month, and continue to break down the big goals into smaller easier steps. As March comes to a close, we start to get a feel for the new friendships and group affiliations we are considering forging as structured Saturn dips its toe into Aquarius. Quite unlike the connections we’ve made in the past, these new networks are forward-thinking, community-minded, and focused on innovation. Might this be a preview of the famed Age of Aquarius? Yes!
PISCES (Feb. 19–March 20) As speedy planet Mercury moves forward in your sign, you sparkling fishies swim into clearer waters, refreshing your social lives. You’re ready to swish and swirl with your squad. Lots of short trips dot the calendar this month as you connect with ease and work your graceful skills to inaugurate new affiliations. Along the way, single guppies just might hook a romantic potential. Mostly, we encourage you to playfully rise with a wave of your favorite friends and take a positivity trip to your local fun spot. Maybe that’s booking a beautiful suite in a nearby city or frolicking the seaside on a sunny afternoon or a night out dancing. Follow your inspiration! Meanwhile, as you flex your written and visual acuity watch how you begin to influence the rest of the pond and transform yourself in the process. Instagramming fishes should expect an upsurge in their followers not to mention oodles more likes. You’re at the beginning of a new journey, one that puts compassion and healing at the fore and the treasures of your subconscious mind as an endless source to pull from.
ARIES (March 21–April 19) Rams continue to survey the playing field, determining who’s woot! and who’s meh. This audit continues in March. En route, you may encounter an old friend or two whom you’ll be considering through a new lens. Meanwhile, lovely Venus prances into your money house bringing along with her a financial surprise or awakening a dormant talent that could prove to be a profitable side gig. A full moon in your house of health and work illuminates the changes needed to keep your body in balance. This is not to be overlooked as this new structure will be key to helping you pace yourself during a particularly dynamic year. As your ruler, Action-Jackson Mars joins the heavy-hitting planetary pile up in your career house, you now have high-octane fuel to burn around restructuring your professional goals. If you can manage to harness this power surge toward steering your career trajectory instead of letting blind ambition spin out of control, you can go far this year in building wealth and dare we say, power. In the weeks leading up to your birthday, be sure to make a pit stop at the local spa or Zen Center. Take time out to contemplate, and refuel before you hit the wide-open road of your life.
TAURUS (April 20–May 20) You look mah-velous, you beautiful Bull, you. With your ruling planet, charming Venus slipping into your sign early in the month, your allurement is on high volume, making your prowess for drawing in what you want unmatched by any other zodiac sign this month. ME-OW. You don’t even have to ask! Your creative talents are on display, too and you may be amped to take your act on the road. Head off for parts unknown, enroll in a business course, or hike the Camino de Santiago. You’re primed to broaden your horizons, crisscrossing borders, spiritually and philosophically right now. By the end of the month, you are ready to brave a new career frontier, one that may seem outside your comfort zone but which aligns with the transformation around your beliefs that’s been morphing over the last few years. Around the new moon (on the 24th) take note of any rumblings beneath the surface of your consciousness. This subterranean intel could inform the next chapter in your career.
GEMINI (May 21–June 20) Sweet dreams Gemini. Though your main muscle (planet Mercury)’s been taking a magical mystery tour of your latest achievements and though you may have been feeling pressure from the growing pains in your intimate relationships, there’s still time to take a load off and let your senses soak up the beauty and peace of the natural world. De-stress you must! Even simply bathing in the quiet state of just being will do. As you slow the pace and restore your body’s natural rhythms, you recharge your batteries; and before you know it, you’re able to plunge with fresh passion into shared projects with exciting new collaborators. (We hear Brad Pitt is looking for new associates!) Really, this could be that big. You’re not out of your depth. You’ve just landed in a bigger pond. Don’t worry, you’ve done the deep diving, and you’re ready to turn that dross into gold.
CANCER (June 21–July 22) Gentle Crabs, you’ve been feeling a cumbersome pressure weighing on the very structure of your primary relationship. Since Mercury retrograde has got you thinking more philosophically, we suggest that you consider your relationship as a separate entity. This will help to take the focus off your significant other, not to mention yourself. There’s potential for a true pressure release here. Career-wise, you’ve secured a good offer which gives you space to relax and enjoy some much needed nurturing fun with your friends. It’s all about the ebb and flow this month with the work/life balance. After the downtime, voila! You feel less cramped inside your relationship, and you find you have more energy to devote to growing a stronger connection to your partner, which in turn makes you more able to support all parts of your life. Toward the end of the month, a new moon in your career house pumps new blood into your professional life. And you’re back in the workflow.
LEO (July 23–Aug. 22) The focus this month for Lions is on the earthly matters, from finances to health to your intimate relationships. You may have had some uncharacteristic deeper recall regarding your past over the last few weeks, which has left you waxing nostalgic. This sets you up to take a risk in the trust department where your most intimate relationship is concerned. Get in there! It will deepen your bond. Meanwhile, a full moon gleaming in your money house spotlights necessary detailed attention on your earnings. Make sure you do due diligence as you go to file your taxes. In fact, best to take care of that before setting aside funds for your next adventure. Your health regimen may need a jump start, particularly for those loungy cats who’ve been sipping hot cocoa by the fireside this winter. Check your pride at the door of Planet Fitness, and pay attention to your body’s nagging cry for attention. Get on the band-wagon of plant-based diets and sign up with a trainer. Even though you’re doing more than your lion’s share at the office, the antidote is to rebalance your life with a steady work-out schedule.
VIRGO (Aug. 23–Sept. 22) While there may have been some crossed wires in your partnerships these past few weeks, the confusion will start to clear this month as you get a handle on your communication skills. This coincides well with a new urge to expand your metaphysical muscles. A potential arises for enlightenment whilst on retreat, especially in a beautiful natural setting. Make a plan to head for the mountain top and don’t forget to bring along your meditation cushion. What you learn up there could have a powerful effect on your creative endeavors as well as your romantic life. Speaking of which, single hard-working Virgos may find they’re entwined with a new intrigue or things could start to heat up with an existing heartthrob. A full moon in your house of identity asks you to shed some outworn idea about who you are and what your role is in this lifetime. Let it go! When the new moon in Aries comes around two weeks later, you’ll be ready to commit to blossoming from a more vulnerable part of you.
LIBRA (Sept. 23–Oct. 22) Libras’ innate law of attraction turns to raising capital this month. Whether you have a venture already in the works or are starting up a new project, you have mojo to draw in the support of other people’s resources. If business propositions and boardroom pitches aren’t your jam, you may find your persuasive powers playing out in the bedroom where your sensual side takes a deep dive. All the while your engine is running on high around the homefront. You may be stoked about renovating your flat or refurbishing an out-building on your property. Putting effort into laying any kind of new foundation, literal or figurative, positions you for a fresh approach to relationships which as we all know is your happy place. And whether you’re in a committed partnership, searching for that special someone, or pleasantly balancing your social calendar with a sweet variety of dates, you’re coming from a refreshed understanding. The full moon earlier in the month could activate your dream life so keep your notebook bedside to record whatever messages come through the subconscious airwaves.
SCORPIO (Oct. 23–Nov. 21) Your legendary magnetism takes a lap around your relationship house this month, mesmerizing your partner and reacquainting you with the pleasures of the flesh. Meanwhile, the metamorphosis that’s been unfolding around your mind and how you think begins to bear fruit. You’re positively brimming with new ideas and raring to blast them out to your various networks. Don’t underestimate your power as an influencer. Now more than ever, it’s vital for you to consider what you say and to wield your communication powers with great care. A full moon in your house of friends and organizations urges you to evaluate who might be more of a burden than an ally. Be picky. Later in the month, a fresh approach to your health and daily habits takes a lead role in supporting your success on the job and in your daily life in the months ahead. How you start the day, from your early morning workout at the Y to eating a wholesome breakfast to balancing your workload are key in helping you maintain the energy you need to keep up with the hurried pace ahead this year.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22–Dec. 21) Centaurs can expect a bit of grace and sweetness in their day-to-day routines in March as easy-going Venus saunters into your house of health and daily work. You’ve been burning the candle at both ends, earning your keep and hopefully, reaping some reward for it, too. While the full moon spotlights your public life, revealing some important details you may have overlooked, Sagges are generally well positioned to spot financial opportunities others might not see. If you can tame your tendency to play it loose, applying focus on the money end, Sagges might just find themselves in line to be the next moguls. Toward the end of the month, plant new seeds around creativity and romance. By consciously setting intention around exploring new avenues of self-expression and pleasure you activate the axiom: Do what you love, and the money will follow.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22–Jan. 19) Our esteemed Sea Goats have been under intense pressure for some time now, but hopefully, you’re feeling it ease up a bit lately. And while there is still intensity to come this month when pushy Mars and extreme Pluto meet up in your sign, the hardest part is over for now. Allow yourself some playtime, relax and unwind, and enjoy some chit chat or gossip at a neighborhood brunch. But keep it light. The full moon lights up your house of wisdom and learning, encouraging you to explore a spiritual practice or take a class in something a bit more esoteric. How about Reiki? Toward the end of the month, you’ll be yearning to recommit to hearth, home and even something having to do with your ancestors. If you’ve been putting off drawing up a family tree, consider starting the project in March.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20–Feb. 18) Water-bearers are sprucing up the house, outfitting their places in soft fabrics and earth tones. This month is a great time to acquire a new art piece or two. And go ahead, splurge on that custom sectional, you’ll be so glad you did. As you change the look and feel of your living space, it reflects the interior of your psyche and all the pressure that’s been building up in your subconscious. What’s that old saying about a piece of coal under pressure turning into a diamond? This is what’s going on for you. A shiny new you is in the works.
If you know your rising sign, read that too; it’s often more relevant.
