I enjoy the light in the fall and the sweetness of the heat while the sun is up. I’ve pulled out my headlamp and tights for morning runs. I love jackets and layers and the unpredictability of the temperatures.
Stopping in at the local fly or bike shop and asking for advice is a well established ritual, especially if you are in a new area. What river is fishing well? What flies are working? What are the trail conditions?
Last night the backyard hummed when I took the dogs out, and bees were everywhere. We have two neighbors with hives, and with a yard full of flowers I am sure that our neighbor's honey is the taste of our yard and neighborhood.
If you find the last dispersed camping spot in the canyon are you bothered by the dust, noise, and lack of privacy? Or are you grateful that the canyon is beautiful and the camping free?
